Show ' ' Tropic. Topics, 1 Ella Adair The children of E.R. Shakesepar and their families, surprised him with a birthday dinner on June 1 at his home. Thirty-two family members were present. Jay Johnson spent the weekend in Tropic with his parents. His mother and nephew came with him. Clara recently had an eye appointment in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Llttlefleld attended a class reunion at Utah State University. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jolley attended funeral services for Vee Rappley in Provo. Eva Dean Francisco enjoyed a visit from her aunt and uncle, also the bishop and family of her sister's ward in Rose Park. Ray and John Munson and their wives were in Tropic for the. opening of fishing season. They visited with their brothers Si and James. The Don Munson family, Kearns are visiting with the Silas Munsons. Larry and Judy Adair visited with the Arnold Adairs. Mazel and Jay Lit-tlefield, from Louisianna, and their families, are visiting with the Norman Littlefields. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Riddle spent the weekend in Cedar City visiting with Ben's father. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lit-tlcfield received word of the birth of their first great-grandchild, a baby boy born June 3 to Brent and Selena Goble, of St. George. Grandparents are Jim and Helen Beatty. Rose Salem was home visiting with the. Ira Littlefields. She reported that her two sons, Mark and Rich, graduated from 8th grade with hie) honors in their schooVfn Arizona. Dean and Val Shakespear and families visited with the Vernal Shakespears and did a little fishing. Mr. and Mrs. John Ruesch and sonj Las Vegas, visited the Rick Bybees. We are happy to see Lizzie Barton home after spending the winter with her children in Provo, Orem and Salt Lake City. Her daughter Margene, is visiting with her this week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Millett and three children spent Sunday in Tropic. It was good to see Lloyd back again. Alice Twitchell and daughters also were in Tropic for church. Janet Scott is enjoying a visit from her sister who returned from an LDS mission. Margaret Mecham is in Salt Lake City this week with her parents and helping her son Steve get ready for his forthcoming LDS mission to South Africa . Steve's testimonial will be held on Sunday, June 17 at 11:30 a.m. in the Tropic Ward. A youth fireside was held in the church. Lady Lions will meet at 7:30 in the scout house. The Wallace and Sherrill Otts attended graduation exercises at SUSC. Their daughter, Kathy graduated with high honors. Members of the ward were busy planting potatoes in me Dae i " the church Tuesday. Jteannene Pollock was leased as Star B teacher, and Kathy Shakespear sustained In her place. George Jolley was released as Weblo leader and Roy Mc-Cluskey sustained in his place. Jan Nielsen was released as Den Mother and Orvilla Shakespear was sustained in her place. The jobs are part of the Primary. . Paul Mangum, Mateland Baugh and Quint Mecham attended horse races in Parowan. Paul's horse won Its race. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ott were in Page to see their granddaughter receive her name and to see their oldest grandson confirmed a member of the LDS church. The Carl Syretts were in Blanding on a trip and visited friends. Donna Simmons visited Verdall and Minnie Nielsen. Michele and Fred Torres, Beatrice, Loral and Cliff and Linda Barton were in Tropic. The Gordon Pollocks were in Tropic. Virgil Pollock is a patient in the hospital in Panguitch. Reports are that LaMar Shakespear is recovering from his heart surgery and should be home in the near future. James Munson is also home from the hospital and Is doing very nicely. The former Emma Lou Allred visited with Luella Mangum last week. Kent and Laura Cottam also visited. It Is good to see the Drlggers In their home in Tropic. i Richard and Debbie Haycock visited the Garn Haycocks. The Marvin Shakespear family has moved into the Minerva Duton home, until their new home, is built. Work has started on the Vance Pollock home. Martin and Carla Ramsay are living In the Ron Baugh home. Six pretty young ladies, employed at Bryce Canyon for the summer are living In the Duane Stewart home. Glenna and Adrian Pollock managed to gather all 30 members of their immediate family together for the first "official" family reunion. The gala event was held at Pine Lake with good times, good talk and great food, followed on Sunday by all family members traveling to Panguitch for the blessing of Debbie and Royce Pollocks young son, Grevor Royce Pollock. |
