Show Hatch Happenings Reva Lowder 735-4203 Services were held at the Hatch Cemetery with Bishop Mervin Barnhurst presiding for Mrs. Marie Hayes a former resident of here She died in St. George following a lingering illness A tribute was given by Effel Riggs The grave was dedicated by Frank Hayes Her husband preceeded her in death and she is buried by his side. She is survived by her son Frank and his family, Reno, Nev.; S grandchildren. 2 of whom she raised; Tom Hayes. Hurricane; and Leann Hayes Woodard and great - granddaughter Jamie Woodard both Iansing, Kan Leann was in the service of this county. Our Relief Wintv VuM their opening social with a pot luck dinner. It was delicious and enjoyed by a large group of ladies Speakers in sacrament meeting were Sam and Lucille Evans and their grandchildren Tamera, Michael and Cory Evans. Little Jamie Tennille Woodard was given her name and a blessing by her uncle Garth Heap. Mr. and Mrs. Layton Barney and the LaMar Barneys all attended meeting in Tooele where iheir nephew Kerry, son of the Gordon Barneys has just recently returned from his mission and he gave his report. While in the north part of the state the Layton Barneys visited with Doris and Spence Hawkins in American Fork and the Lamar Barneys visited her folks the Sherman Camerons in Sprinjville. Effel Riggs attended the St. George LDS Temple where her grandson and his fiancee were married She attended a wedding dinner that evening at the Max Torres home in Cedar City for the newlyweds While in Cedar City she visited several days w'th her daughter Thora Porter Effel came home witii the Garth Heaps after they had visited their children in Cedar City. Reva, Karl and Laretta Lowder visited several days in Minersville with the Larry Baileys. Mary Beth Bailey visited the Lowders here one day during the week Velta Sawyer and girls, Kanab visited the Garn Sawyers and the Lowders The Max Burrows, FYedonia visited relatives here. Carla, Michael and Lucinda Sawyer and Maggie Barnhurst spent several days visiting relatives in LaVerkin and Hurricane While there they attended a testimonial for Terri Dutton, daughter of Cecil and Delma Dutton Terri leaves soon for an LDS mission. Maggie accompanied her brothers and sisters from Dixie to Salt Lake City to visit their brother Clarence Sanders who is very ill and is in the Cottonwood Hospital. Mr inA . gnu mia, mci III J Barnhurst, West Jordan visited with the Dallas Barn hursts. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Barnhurst are visiting at Twin Falls, Idaho with the Del Barn hursts and to see their new home. Mr. and Mrs. David Sawyer went to Cedar City to help the Kurt Sawyers paint their new home. The Kurt Sawyers visited them here Brad Riggs, Cedar City visited in town. Mr. and Mrs Lynn Evans visited in Hurricane and helped the Deloy Evans' work on their new home Noreen went on to Washington to visit the Clark Evans family and is happy to report Clarks health is a little improved. Bret Frehner left for Cedar City last week where he enrolled for school at SUSC Dorothy Huntington, Ellen Branham and baby daughter Tina Marie, St. George and Rebecca Nelson and daughter Randi, Orem visited Mr and Mrs. Oliver Huntington and took pictures of the four generations. Mr and Mrs Thayne Imlay of Grantsville and Mr. and Mrs Stanley Wise of West Point, Utah came over the weekend and put shingles on Abbie Fallis' home Mr and Mrs David Sawyer, Kent of Hatch ar. J Kurt Sawyer of Cedar City went to Kanab and visited Rhoana Findlay Sunday afternoon after they had returned to Hatch Phyllis Sawyer of Cedar City came over to Hatch. |
