Show Garfield County Fair Opens Friday The Garfield County Fair will get underway Friday with the first event being the Miss' Garfield County Scholarship Pageant. Following is a schedule of events during the following week. Augusts 8 p.m. Miss Garfield County Pageant, Bryce Valley High School. Admission, $1.50 for adults and .75 for children 12 and under. August 7 8 a.m. Enter livestock at Panguitch Race Track 8:30 a.m. Livestock judging and showmanship 9:30 a.m. Junior Livestock Show 1 p.m. Registration for Junior Horse Show at Panguitch Race track, contact Ron Hatch. 2 p.m. Junior horse show-fitting and showmanship, western horsemanship, barrel, pole bending and key hole. 8 p.m. Farm Bureau Talent Find contest. Panguitch Social Hall, contact Tom and Kay Hatch. August 11 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. enter all home arts and fine arts. Exhibits except baked goods, flowers, and fresh produce. Enter all 4-H exhibits except flowers and fresh produce. All exhibits go to Panguitch Elementary School. 7:30 p.m. FFA Amateur Rodeo, Panguitch rodeo arena. Bareback bronc, bull and steer riding, calf roping, team roping and other events. All con testants must be under 21 and from Garfield County. August 12 Judging of exhibits. Building closed to public. 3 p.m. 4-H meal preparation contest at Panguitch High School. 8 p.m. An Evening With the Arts, a program of music, painting and creative dance by Garfield County artists under the direction of Mabel Fischer. Closed to public. 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Doors open to public to view exhibits. 8 p.m. Magic show and barbership quartet contest, Panguitch Social Hall August 14 10 a.m., exhibits open to the public 9:30 a.m. Register for Pet show at Panguitch elementary school 10 a.m. Pet show, contact Bill and Sara Worthen 11:30 a.m. County family picnic and contests at Pat.guitch City Park Bring own lunch. 1 p.m. Activities Burling .(log rolling), wood chopping, .log sawing (power and hand), pie ,eating, tug-o-war, axe throwing with prises. Also horse sihoes?' and;. av carnival tor children. 4 p.m. 4-H fashion show and awards program at Panguitch Elementary School. Pick up exhibits after program. |
