Show MINUTES OF an U TY COUNCIL city council met in regular session thursday mayor knudson knudsen councilmen bott J jensen M jensen wight and valentine present councilman wight reported investigation as to opening ol of street on ath west between 6 aud and 7 north and recommended om oni that matter be deterred deferred recommendation adopted A hyland and B C call representing kiwanis club appeared with reference to brigham Brig liam city assisting them financially in cleaning up and parking smith square matter was discussed and action deterred deferred manager reported investigation as to purchase of land from soren nelson nelion to be used lor for dumping refuse tor for brigham city and recommended that brigham city reconsider this matter moved by valentine that recommendation be adopted seconded and carried irrigation exemptions as to churches chur chei and tabernacle was made as hereto fore manager recommended that a rate of 37 per sq tt ft be charged for perpetual upkeep of cemetery lots moved by J jensen and seconded by bott that matter be referred to committee on cele cemetery tery with power to act moved by valentine that brigham city reconsider action at former session of 0 changing water on third so street and that they accept the plans plan of the engineer as aa per sketch on tile file in managers office seconded and carried manager reported that measure ments had bad been taken of water flow at drainage outlets in mantua and that total flow was second feet manager presented communication from 0 S L RR co wherein they ask that brigham city corporation furnish water at stockyards stock yards in brigham tree free of charge manager wag wafe authorized zed to install meter at stock yards and charge accordingly manager also presented report on water samples from state laboratory report accepted and ordered tiled filed manager recommended that brigham city cooperate co operate with L D S church relative to lighting tabernacle square upon motion duly seconded and carried recommendation was adopted matter of letting contracts tor for electric lamps deterred deferred earlier in the ses sea sion was again taken up and applications considered contract was given to V V phillips quarterly report of city sexton was also presented accepted and or er dered tiled filed contract as between federal government and brigham city tor for electric energy and water at post office was presented moved by valentine that mayor be authorized to enter into contract with federal government at the same rate as heretofore seconded and nd carried committee heretofore appointed to investigate matter of hiring band tor for summer concerts reported that they h gone into the matter and becom mended that scout band be engaged to put on concerts at a charge of 42 per concert provided that brigham city have authority to regulate num her of concerts and when they are to be put on moved and seconded and carried that recommendation be adopted |
