Show Alice G. Spencer Buried At Escalante Garfield's oldest resident Mice Griffin Spencer, 90, of Escalante died at her homo on May 24. 1974. She was born April 23, 1884, at Escalante to Joseph Emerson and Emma Lav-Ina Riggs Griffin. Married Or son Spencer April 8, 1903, at Escalante. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died May 9, 1912. Survivors: son, daughters, Maitland,Mrs. Wilford (Verda) Llston, Mrs. Eldred (Veda) Mitchell, all Escalante; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild. Brothers Ray, Ernest both Escalante; Layton, Kenneth, both Provo; Theron, Tropic. Funeral Services for Alice Griffin Spencer were held in the Escalante Suth Ward Chapel on Tuesday, May 28, 1974, with Bishop Sharon Dale Marsh conducting.
