Show Forest Service Closes Circleville Office Concentrates At Panguitch, Escalante Forest Supervisor, Alvin F. Wright of the Dixie National Forest, announced consolidation of three Ranger Districts and relocation of one headquarters office. The changes are being made after a careful study and analysis of all alternatives. Mr. Wright explained that these consolidations are one measure being taken by the Forest Service to Implement the National Economic Policy and to maintain quality management of the environment without increasing costs. The consolidation plan calls "for combining the west half of the Circleville District with the Panguitch Disrict. The east half of the Circleville District will be added to the Escalante District. Effective October 27, 1972, the Forest Service office at Circleville. Utah will be closed and records will be transferred to the appropriate headquarters locations at Pangultch and Escalante, Utah. Arrangements have been made to provide jobs for all employees affected by the consolidation. Forest Supervisor Wright emphasized that consolidation of Ranger Districts is In line with Forest Service policy to provide quality management for all National Forest lands. Head quarters are located where they will be accessible to the public and where they can provide the most service with existing personnel. |
