Clyde Spencer is getting stronger and Slim Alvey has been pampered so long he is beginning to like It Ross and Jackie Woolsey have a baby girl, this makes them one of each. Harold and Harriet Nutter have a new son making three boys and two girls. The Tony Larsons are here from California to vacation at their home on the red rocks. Olive and Frank Norton of Salt Lake spent several days at the Reeves Baker home. Reeves took himself to Pangultch to the Doctor, Laura accompanied him for moral support. Velma Durant came from Idaho to visit at the home of her parenU, Arnold and Zella Alvey. Zella went back with her for a vacation. , . Fay and Vic Van Oostendorp n and daughtrs came from California and spent several days with Lavina Pollock. Guy Pol-lock brought his seal-coat crew and finished up the new road between here and Boulder. Vere and Shlrlce Spencer and daughter Tammy spent the weekend In Kingston visiting and fishing. The Blake Robinson had granddaughter, Shelly Porter and some friends, Teresa Holmes, Jim Olsen and Kelsey Cain here from Provo. Blake's brother Lynn and Sherril Bar-nson of Battle Mountain, Nevada, brought a horse and stayed overnight. Minnie and Billie Davis and grandson Robert Smith went to Panguitch and on to Cedar City. Machelle Foster and Kathy Ott, of Tropic, were visitors at the Davis home. Deon Alvey took daughters Denlse and Raylene and Mark Griffin to Cedar City to the dentist. Lloyd and Betty Alvey went to Pangultch Lake and brought Christine home for her days off. Raylene accompanied them and stayed with Jancen. Reo Roundy has Maida, Walt and Glen Seegmlller here from Ogden. Osmer and Evle Nelson of Parowan spent the weekend here. Starns and Fon Mecham, Deon Alvey, MaeVonn Taylor, Florence and Leonard Winder went to Tropic to Dr. Cloyd Mecham. Eldon and Amber Griffin moved to Kanab where ho will continue to work for Garkane, Mary and LaVern kept the little girls while they made the move. Myrna Barker and family are here from Salt Lake. James, Millie and Twila Mclnelly went to Richfield for the wedding reception of Glade and Delma'i daughter, Donna Reynolds. Claron and Ruby Griffin took Ray and Lenora to Provo for Ray's checkup, he was coming along fine. Beth Liston came from Salt Lake for the weekend and brought Joan Blair. Marvin and Louise Mounteer and girls went to Pangultch, they had Paul and family here from Or-derville last weekend. Guests at the Wallace Rbilndy and Smith Alvey home were Kerry Ropelato and his friend Blair from Ogden, their interest was centered in the Alvey girls, Irene and Lucinda. Relatives here received word of the death of George Peterson, a former resident. All six Relief Societies met in the South Ward Chapel for Stake Night: a program was presented, some changes made and dinner served. Lizzie Porter was released as work director and Millie Mclnelly put in, Nelda Willis released as Social leader, replaced by Caroline Porter Nethella Wool-sey released as Cultural Refinement leader, replaced by Flo-rnce Alvey; Dena Alvey released as Spiritual Living Leader, replaced by Nelda Munson. Zelma Seal is over the Mother Trainer department. Gloria and LaMar Gracle spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. Gene Sandler. Ricky Haws, and Boyd Griffin went to Hanksvllle for employment. Weldo Woolsey, Cleo Lyman and Boyd Cottam to Farming-ton. New Mexico. Stan and Jan Liston have son Brad and a friend here for the summer. The Mitchell family held a reunion at Calf Creek Saturday and Sunday. Mildred Adair had son Donald Cowles home on a furlough, he had his family so the rest of the kids came; Milton and Joyce Woolsey from California, Warren and Kathleen Woolsey, Bill and Sharon Francisco from Cedar City, they had a good visit and a picnic. lone and Wayne Barney had Bob and Hilma Carber from Ogden, Donald Lcavitt, his wife and twin girls from Eugene, Oregon, and Bernlce Tuft from Monroe. The Summer Youth program has added something new, an Information booth as one enters town on the West, it Is run by High School girls. In Sacrament meeting Sunday the North Ward speakers were Berlin Osborn, Billle Davis and Glen Shaw, Areola Gates played an organ solo. The South Ward speakers were Blaine and Evelyn Lyman, and Lucinda Alvey gave highlights of her 4-1 1 trip. Max White came In swapping horses. Eldon Sudweeks was with him. Alfred and Bonnie Chlono went to Cedar City and St. George. The Riding Gub held a steak fry at Calf Creek with Dale Lyman chief cook. Lloyd Gates is home with new teeth and glasses, looks great. Cecil Dawn Porter visited in Salt Lake City. Lincoln Lyman parked a trailer house out to his field and there are various stories about it, none confirmed. Lola Zenz spent the weekend here. The Bob Soren-sons had Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dahrty and his Mother Florence here for their second vis-It. Don and Sue Mosler have his son Don here for the summer. That storm did some damage along with much good. It washed out some road between here and the Hole in the Rock. That little word pollution is very often seen describing air and water and other things unclean. Even eye pollution so couldn't we Include political pollution, or would that be too rude? |
