Show Wayne Owens Day Proclaimed Candidate To Visit 10th - 11th Wayne Owens 'Day' Proclaimed PROCLAMATION WHEREAS Douglas Wayne Owens has brought honor and credit to his native community of Panguitch, Utah, as an outstanding citizen, and WHEREAS Wayne Owens will start his campaign for election to the United States Congress as Representative of Utah's Second Congressional District with a visit to his home town. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Saturday, March 11, 1972 be known as "Wayne Owens Day" In Panguitch, Utah. M. Kay Hcywood Mayor of Panguitch Panguitch, has announced his intention to run for Congress as Representative of the 2nd Utah District. Wayne was born and raised in Panguitch. He is a graduate of Panguitch High School. After spending three years on an LDS Mission to France, he completed his education, and was graduated with honors, from the University of Utah Law School with the degree of doctor of law. His interest in politics and government goes back to early childhood. He is qualified for the high position he seeks through education and practical experience. Mr. Owens served as western states coordinator for Robert Kennedy's presidential campaign. He has also served for several years as administrative assistant of Senator Frank E. Moss of Utah, and he served as administrative assistant to Senator Edward Kennedy when the latter was majority whip of the U.S. Senate. Wayno will be In Panguitch this coming weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 11 and 12. |
