Therefore, I am taking thb opportunity to thank you for nominating me as candidate for the office of Mayor and to solicit your vote and support in the coming election. I have tried to outline briefly a few facts which may bo of Interest to you in helping to decide your vote: FAMILY BACKGROUND: I am a native of Panguitch, having been born here in 1933 to Glen S. Lee and Mary Schow Lee. My wife, Joan Adams, is the daughter of Claude and Cecil Tebbs Adams. Our children are, Wally age 14, David, 12, and Joyc, 9. EDUCATION: I wasigraduated from Panguitch High School In 1951, attended SUSC 1951 through .1953, Northwestern University 1954 through 1958, Post graduate courses; University of Michigan and Loma Linda University, California. ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS I have held several positions of leadership which should bring considerable experience to the of ilce of Mayor. These include; President of the J.Cs, twice president of the Chamber of Commerce and president of the Lions Club. I baro staked my future in the City of Panguitch by establishing my practlo here, building my home and building the Panguitch clinic here together with other local investors. So you can, see that I am vitally intrested in lhe economic welfare and growth of our City. I will not make any great campaign promises which might be Impossible to fiJfill or which might not prove to be in the best interest of our City. 1 A few things are of immediate concern to ail of us, the primary one of which, I think we all agree is our hospital. There is great danger that we are going to lose our hospital completely. There is no doubt In my mind that our present hospital Mill be abandoned completely in - the not too distant fuure, perhaps five years or sooner. The real danger lies in whether or not -we will be able to construct a new one. This will be an expensive undertaking and we will need the help and cooperation of all our citizens as well as possibly some outside sources of funds', such as Health Services Corp., a corporation owned by the L.D.S.. Church, In " order to secure these funds it will be necessary to convince tne sources that Panguitch Is economically healthy and that the population will be sufficient to warrant a hospital A large amount of revenue for ourCity Is derived from the tourist trade which would be severely cor-tailed were It not for the availability of our hospital. - If elected I will work to the utmost of my ability in all areas where the best interests of our City are concerned.
