Show John H. Hatch Funeral Services Funeral services were held Oct. 1st in the Tropic ward chapel for John Henry Hatch, Jr., 86 Family prayer, Francis Hatch; organ, prelude and postlude, Genevieve Ix?Fevre, vocal duet, "Beautiful Isle Of Somewhere," Malen and Viva Mccham; talk, John H. Johnson; song, Nelda Swapp; talk. Pres Malen Mccham; song. 'Dear Hearts And Gentle People," Herman Pollock; remarks, Bishop Give F. Bybce; song by Deon Alvey, Gerald-ine Liston and Marlene Haws: benediction, Scott Reynolds The grave was dedicated by Vee Hatch; burial was in the Tropic cemetery Mr. Hatch died of natural causes at his home in Tropic Sept. 27th. He was born April 1, 1882 in Cannonville, a son of John Henry and Elizabeth Davis Hatch. On Oct 19, 1902 he married Ethel Reynolds in Pangultch; the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. He was a former stockman and employee of the state road commission. When a young man he worked with his father in the sheep business, and had been a freighter down on the "Muddy" in Overton, Nevada Shortly after their marriage, he and his wife homesteaded on a ranch on the top of "The Dump." then moved to their present home In Tropic, where they had resided for over fifty years, and raised a family of 12 children. Survivors: widow; sons and daughters: Vernon, Richfield; Mrs Oral (Gwen) Richins, Mrs. Russell (Beverly) Wright, Dorr, all of Grantsville; Mrs. John (Ferriland) Ruesch. Mrs. Virgil (LaFaun) Pollock, of Tropic; Mrs. Leland (RaVae) Pollock, Bryce Canyon National Park: 45 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren : brothers, sisters: Arthur, Springville; Francis, Las Vegas. Nov.; Mrs Amelia Losee, Provo: Mrs. Etta Swapp. Overton, Nev. ; Mrs. Rachel Schmutz, Hurricane; Orland, American Fork; Merlin, Oregon; Reed, Montana. We wish to express our appreciation to the medical and hospital staff in Pangultch, and the friends and neighbors who assisted in any way during the recent illness and death of our dear father and husband.
