Had one serious accident: Hode Alvey got his left arm in machinery at the saw mill taking off his little finger, breaking his arm in three places, bruised and mangled the skin and flesh. He was given first aid by Nelda Willis then rushed to Panguitch where Doctors Kazan and Lusty patched him up, his family have all been to see him. Coleen Burrow got word her mother was to have surgery so she went to Provo to be with her; Nellie Bailey went with her and on to Kearns to assist with her grandkids, the Schows. The little boy got out of the hospital but was still suffering from some infection. Hazel Haycock took son Bryce to Salt Lake City for more surgery. Shirlee Spencer got word that daughter Dotty was worse so she left for Salt Lake, but by the time she got there Dotty was feeling much better, s she came home. ' Reeves and Laura Baker went north visiting daughter Laurel and family in Provo, then on to Salt Lake City visiting more relatives, then Laura went to the doctor and Reeves took in the Fair. Laura's condition has improved in some respects and no worse in others. Eva Spencer has been ailing, Usher took her to Richfield to the doctor, Clarice Griffin accompanied them, Patsy Cottam and part of her family came from Provo to care for Eva. Folks living on the outer edges of town are being bothered by skunks. Ches Lay has been trapping them, don't know if it is for pelts or just to keep them irom killing his chickens. Don Coleman chased one out of his chicken coop, it ran onto our premises and he shot it, he hauled away all of the tangible evidence but some of that skunk's friends come in the evening kicking up a stink. Wallace Roundy is home after visiting family members in the northern part of the state. Janice Oiler of Cedar City was here putting on tup-perware parties Fae Jepsen of Boulder brought the kids from there to take music lessons, Dot and Anthony Coombs were al:o here from Boulder picking fruit Rudger and Ve-lora Shurtz and daughter Kae Lynn of Provo were here, their mother Sopha is still in a rest home but can be up part of the time now Wally and Darlene Woolsey were here from Cedar City, they went to the Thurman Spencer ranch for tomatoes, a-long with many others. Tom Dodds came from Panguitch for that purpose. Lola Zent had business in Panguitch, they had more company; Ula and Frank Rapp of Bandon, Oregon, Gene and Gladys Ith of Salt Lake City, Walter and Virginia Dane of Las Vegas, the Danes are moving into their new home In our corner of town. The Grant Thorsons had his brother Ralph, wife Reneeand three kids, David, Shane and Ann here from Ogden. Ralph and June shared the misery of a cold. Vlcki Shurtz went to Salt Lake to represent Garfield County at the Fair, her mother Geneal and sister Val-eree accompanied her. Ott and Hilda Roundy also went up for the festivities. Starns, Fon and Linda Mecham and kids and Janeen Alvey went to Cedar City. Lavina Pollock accompanied them and went by bus to Calif, to visit daughter Fae Oostendorp and family. Ronald and Linda Mecham moved their trailer house on the lot where Mack Barney had his. Always miss something, like Ivan and Nelda Willis having their kids here and his brother Gam and wife Ella from Kanab. Also missed the nice steak supper put on by Mohr and Dina Christensen for town friends and guests at the Motel Lizzie and Cal Porter had business in Richfield. Ivan and Nelda Willis went to St George to go through the temple with Bill Lamb who exchanged marriage vows with Kathleen Gurr of Beaver. La-moine and Jaleen Pollock, Theron and Dixie Mitchell went to Beaver for the wedding reception. The Morias HaUs had his sister Thirza Klrkham of Mt Home, Calif., her daughters brought her from Cedar City, they were Mrs. Tom Lyman. Marion Lyman and two small children. They also visited with Nethella Woolsey Visit ors at the Melvin Alvey home were Mr and Mrs Clarence Tedford of Fallbreok. Calif and Joe and Elizabeth Foy of Panguitch The Ray Adair s and the Bill Franciscos were home for the weekend.
