There was a frightening accident at the Vernon Stowe home; Vernon's brother-in-law. Ken Roily, Ken's son, David, brother. Tommy, and father came from California for the hunt. They were fooling a-round witli a hair-trigger .22 calibre pistol which went off sending a slug into the thigh of Vernon's nephew David They rushed him to Panguitch where the slug, which had hit the bone but not splintered it. wa's removed. They kept him two days then brought him back here to take it easy for a while. Reed and Wilmirth Wooley went to Salt Lake to meet the plane bringing son Ronnie home from the Ohio Michigan area where he has been laboring as an LDS missionary, and has a leave of absence until he can regain his health. His neck Is in traction on account of pinched nerves. He is going to a specialist as soon as he can get a date Rol and Mina Porter had son Merrill and two daughters of Mesa, Arizona. Kenneth and Marie Griffin and daughter Marlene of Provo, and grand son Gerald Thompson of Mur ray Dee and Elda Haws have son Don and small son herefrom El Paso, Texas Reeves Baker had his brother Ariel here from California for the hunt The Bakers had a letter from granddaughter Julie Lynn saying she had won u prize in school in an art con test: The prue is a hot meal once a week for 2 weeks at a McDonald Drive-in. Julie is nine years old and very happy to be one of the five winners in Utah County. Their work was judged on originality in the use of colors, neatness etc. Nethella and Earl Woolsey had her sister-in-law Hazel King of Bend. Oregon, and her son, Ray, of Oakland, California. Nethella went to Boulder with her while the men hunted. Mary Ellen Coleman is helping at the school lunch, she had her sister Norie here last week. Jerry and Rosalee Coleman and family came from Kanab lor the hunt. Andrew and lsabell Spencer took some more belongings and settled in St. George for the winter. lone Barney had her sister Bernice Tuft here from Monroe, also from there came Renon and Gene Reed and girls and Vernon Dean Roundy and wife. Peg, Ora Schow came from New Mexico to visit Sharon and Bob Carlson Ray L. Alvey and family came from Roy Sharon Dale Marsh and family went to Cedar City. Mary Steed and three sons went to Salt Lake City. Grant Liston has son Mark home on furlough. Daniel and Orilla Cowles had son Alvin and his wife Joann. the kids and her mother, Mrs. Delabar, of Salt Lake City. Newell and Dorothy of Richfield, Blaine and Lowell and Dorothy and of course the baby from Cedar City. Most of the college kids came home but took to the hills. Phyllis Alvey took her kids to the den list.
