Show Boulder Soldier Commended On A Job Well Done While Serving In Viet Nam Qsrj W. Haws, son of Mr. and Mrs Leland Haws of Boulder, who is completing his tour of military duty, and who re-, cently returned from Viet Nam has received commendation of which any soldier could be proud. The letter of commendation written to Gary by his commanding officer follows: To SIT. Gary W. Haws SP5 Garv W Haws. US 56392200, United States Army while serving in the 1st platoon, C Co., 4th Engineers has done an outstanding job in many combat engineer jobs. In baas camp construction and primarily in support of Infantry on combat operations SP5 Haws has worked close ly with the Infantry in operation Paul Revere IV, Junction City i all phases i, Manhattan, ' hina . and Diamond Head This support consisted of blow ing trees, captured enemy tunnels, enemy weapons, hridg ing streams and rivers, sweeping roads for mines and many other engineer jobs. sit. Haws has also helped t Construct hospitals, mess halls. barracks a n ri headquarters buUdings In base camp con st ruction. These jobs were all accomplished with meat speed and precision. SIT.
