Show 1123 0 fo winter by C H DAVIS do you like the winter do you like the chill does it fill you with fear or give you a thrill do you like the breezes as they gently blow filling your eyes with the drifting snow while jack frost with his eipers pinches your nose does the same with your fingers then with your toes do you hamper and scamper the same as of yore sliding and by the old cellar door do you roll up the snow balls and in to the din of the regular old battle to see which will win do you wash marys face with crystals of white in the pastimes of youth do you still take delight do you hie to the ice pond with a heart full of glee at the head of the fun as you used to be with molly and susie and cut a real shine feeling and singing oh the world is mine do you hitch up old bill and peet to the sleigh boys and girls hi hoo light hearted and gay with sleigh bells jingling young voices ringing A bunch of real chums all lighthearted light hearted and gay when the moon shines bright do you enjoy a stroll with your sweetheart once young but now getting old to the dance do you trip gently aglid oer the floor floo r to music enchanting as in days long ago do you join in the games as you did in your youth when you say your not old are you telling the tru truth th are you able to say real lifes just begun altho not a kid you are many years young or is this real winter to you and your frow to the ravages of time do you silently bow at the fountains of youth do you fail to drink its a truth oft spoken youre as young as you think then while it is winter lets newly begin to turn lifes winter into life giving spring keep young tho years pass let our shots not yield were young or were old either way that we feel dasy 4 I 1 ii iia 5 76 sieg I 1 |
