Sergeant First Class Christensen distinguished himself during the period 15 December 1968 to 31 March 1969 while serving as the Ambulance Platoon Sergeant with Company D, 23rd Medical Battalion. During this period. Sergeant Christensen assisted in the orderly and efficient transition from a medlcl company under a support battalion, to a medical company under a medical battalion. Working, long arduous hours, he effected the successful resolution of all difficulties In the transition of his unit under the ROAD organization of the America! Division. Supervising many aspects of the battalion's activities, Sergeant Christensen directed the renovation of the enlisted men's billets and increased the efficiency of both the platoon and company. Through his timely actions he contributed greatly to the success of the allied effort against a determined enemy. Sergeant First Class Christensen's professional competence and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service, and reflect great credit upon himself, the America!
