Show Escalante Boosters Form New Chamber Of Commerce The first regular, meeting of the Escalante Chamber of Commerce was held August 17 with 21 members and several guests present. The following officers we're elected: Ken Sleight, president; Don C. Kel-ly vice president; Ray Lillian Fynan, secretary; Melvln Alvey,, treasurer; Charles M. (Max) LaBriere, Randal Lyman and Clyde (Tony) Van Hemert, " directors. Membership' is Open to all individuals interested in the orderly growth and progress of . Escalante. ; Charter, membership will still be available for those who" wish lo join' on or before the. next regular meeting Sept. 7th. Time and place will be announced.- The group was . given.-impetus in Its, formation; on July. 30 when' Clem Church, Vernon L. Holman, Dr. Wallace' G. Lee, and Herbert Allen, 1 officers and members of the Panguitch Chamber of Commerce, traveled to Escalante and Spoke regarding the benefits, to be derived from such an organization.
