Show U.S. FOREST SERVICE NEWS " v; Tree Planting Heads List Of Forest Activities - Personnel Honored ... . . Ranger Bruce Hronek announced the Powell Ranger District is preparing to plant 50 thousand Ponderosa Pine seedlings in the Blue Fly, Ahl-strom Hollow, and Johnson Bench area. The planting of new trees is cccomplished by money deposited by timber sale contractors and funds appropriated to restore burned forests and depleted areas. Present plans will require a crew of 14 men three weeks to complete the job. The job will start about April 13, and be under the supervision of Forestry Technician Jim Cooper. Trees will be planted by using both hand and machine meth ods. J"" A recent trip Into the John-L son Bench area showed an av-' ' erage of 10 inches of snow.
