Show DEATH OF MRS NORTON wednesday morning at 4 mrs maren norton died at the home of her son elvin J norton assistant state superintendent of public instruction at salt lake city whither she went two months previous to see it the change would not be beneficial the cause of mrs nortons Nor tons death was heart trouble with which she had suffered for nearly a year mrs norton was the eldest child of the late al C jensen pioneer resident of this city and pioneer miller ot of utan utah heava he yva iligin born near aalborg denmark january and came cama to brigham city wiLh her parents in 1853 she has resided here since that time mrs norton had been married twice lier her first husband being the late sheldon B cutler and from that union were born two aus sons both ot of whom survive their mother they are parley cutler of 0 idaho falls and andrew cutler ot of ross fork idaho some time following the death of mr cutler mrs norton married the late alanson norton and three sons were born to her two of them having preceded their mother to the other life the remaining son Is E J norton 0 of salt lake mrs norton passed through all the hardships incident to pioneer life and literally came up through much tribulation before coming to this country the family suffered persecution in their native land because of the unpopularity of the faith which they had espoused but through it all mrs norton remained steadfast and true to her convictions and though she was a very quiet woman she lived a busy life and was actively associated with the relief relict society organization in which work she always took delight and found ample expression for the human ity of her nature mrs norton is also survived by one brother patriarch denmark jensen five own sisters and a host of 0 halt half brothers and sisters who have always been regarded in the same light as abo they were full brothers and sisters her mother had fourteen children eight of whom have now passed on to the other life the body was brought to this city wednesday afternoon and funeral services were held in the fourth ward chapel this afternoon beginning at 1 I 1 |
