Show TROPIC TOPICS By Ella Adair Visiting at the Sam Pollock home are the Vernon Davies of Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Loram Pollock and Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson attended the funeral services for Mrs. Pollock's sister held in St. George Monday. Members of the Horace Hall family enjoyed a family reunion held at Bryce this past weekend. The Arlo Bartons, Ada and Weldon Sud weeks and Elizabeth Barton attended the Barton family reunion held at Duck Creek Saturday. We have had some wonderful rain storms this past week, and we are very thankful for the moisture that we have received. Although some of the farmers had their hay down, not one complaint was heard when the rains came. The Lions Club members got busy this past week and finished a new fence that they were building for Thelma Jolley. They hope to soon have their Scout House project completed then will start on a new one. Leda Pratt and children visited with Jane Sudweeks Sat. Ernest Allen and family, of Salina, visited with his brother Ellis this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Colvin arid small daughter have spent the past week visiting with the James Munsons. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Little-field and children have been vjsitlng with relatives and friends in Tropic this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Bybee and two cildren from Ely, Nevada, are visiting at the Allen Miller home , Mrs. Daisy Owen and daughter and husband from Riverton, visited with Mrs. John Johnson this past week. Also Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Palmer and daughter and husband visited at the Johnson home. Ora Brinkerhoff and Louise Shakespear were Richfield visitors this past week. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Littlefield attended a Littlefield reunion in California this past weekend. Eldm Brinkerhoff, Jr. and Gary Don Pollock were home from Grand Canyon for a few days this week. Members of the Leisure Hours Club and their partners enjoyed a party at the E. R. Shakespear home Thursday. Hostesses were Glenna Pollock, Ramona Millett, Eva Pollock and Dixie Shakespear. Viola Marshall spent a few days in Tropic this past week. Members of the Primary enjoyed a Round-Up party Saturday night. Parents of the boys, who were in the classes, were special guests. Stake Primary Pres. and Stake Pres. representatives, Brother and sister D. Haws were special guests. The program in sacrament meeting was presented by the young people from Bryce Canyon. Talks were given by Richard Christensen, Gail Crawford, Diane Summerhays., A piano selection was given by Sandra Bogouine. LaPreal Pollock, Lonny Pollock, and Arlene Barton had birthdays this week. Lonny Pollock was ordained a deacon and Jerry LeFevre a priest Sunday. A Ward officers and teachers meeting was held Sunday afternoon. There will not be any Primary meetings held until after school starts. Hope Wintch made a trip to Cedar to bring her daughter Suzann home. Ann Baugh is enjoying a visit from her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Ott were in Richfield this past week. They took their small grandson there to meet his other grandparents and go on to Salt Lake with them to meet his parents and twin brother. Dar Smith, Marian Shakespear and' Kerry Nelson are attending a Small school workshop at the Utah State University in Logan this week. Derel Sudweeks is in Ft. Lewis, Washington, for a two week training course with the army. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Chyno-weth made a trip to Salt Lake Saturday to enter their son, Evan in the mission home. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hobson and Family of Salt Lake City are visiting at tfie W. H. Man-grum home. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Jolley and daughters of St. George visited Thelma jolley over the weekend. |
