Show SOUTHERN DISTRICT CONFERENCE The Spring Conference of the Southern District of Business and Professional Women's Club was held in Panguitch on Saturday evening. Forty - seven members and guests were present at the banquet meeting which was served at the Flying M Cafe. A business meeting was held with representatives from Cedar City, Zlora, Park, Milford, Beaver, and Panguitch present. New district officers were elected from the Milford club. District Director Edna Sargent, of Cedar City, conducted the meeting. Pledge of AUeg-lance was led by Tennys Houston, and Club Collect was given by Ivah Cline. Musical numbers included two beautiful vocal solos by Elaine Riggs, accompanied by Hope Truman; and a piano duet by Irene Mc-Ewen and Nina Steele. Year end business of the District was concluded and the new officers were Installed. Visiting state officers spoke briefly. The table$ were beautifully decorated with daffodils and pussy willows and streamers of yellow and greeen. Also making a hit with the out-of-town visitors was a plentiful supply of buUberry jelly and dishes laden with homemade candy. Conference chairmen were Dolly Henrie and Tennys Houston, with assistance from Club president Fay Lvnn and other Panguitch members. |
