We did not hear of anyone being any sicker than they were last week, Twlla Mcln-elly was called to go to her mother, Mary Moosman of Boulder who had fallen and had to be taken to the Pan-gultch hospital. The Larry Chynoweths took their mother, Elthere Alvey to Salt Lake where she says she Is a gul-na pig for those doctors, Kate Porter accompanied them to check on her sister Norma Barnson who is ill. Effie Spencer has something on her hand, don't know if it was a poison bite or a boil, she took it to the doctor for treatment but It still won't let her sleep or work, there is only one good thing about it, that is being on her left hand; her daughter Leann and her husband Neal Julan-der came from Panguitch to help catch the work up. Ger- ' ;ald Thompson took Yulond Mclnelly and small son to Mesa, Arizona to visit the Merrill Porters; her husband Dave, who is In the Service in Alaska was voted the Soldier of the Month. The Arthur Mclnellys had their daughter-in-law Sharon here visiting, her husband Clnn who lis in the Air Force has been sent overseas for a spell. Some items missed last week are the visit of Ferrel Roundy and wife of Provo at the homes of his grandparents, the Joe Schows and the Wallace Roundys; the Joe Barkers of Richfield visited at the Hyrum Coleman home; and the last installment of Oil Roundys gepher story was that they had to get Bill Vidrene with his Cat. to pull the rake out of the gopher hole. We found out why Frank Lay smokes Bull Durham, he says that Is the nearest he will ever get to Beef Steak. Frank also says that the only way he will ever get all of his possessions, borrowed by his neighbors is to trade places with them. Karl and Ann Spencer came for Easter then took Eva north to tend her grandchildren while her daughter Patsy went to Salt Lake for Primary conference; Clarice Griffin also went to Provo to tend grandchildren while her daughter-in-law Dawnetta attended conference. Reed Wooley has gone on vacation,, away from all these water worries; his wife, son and mother-in-law, Martha Davis, accompanied him into New Mexico and California to visit their offspring, the Neal Wooleys and the Howard Jensens. Hulda Spencer had her son Osmyn Deuel and his wife of Hatch; the Joe Schows had daughter Freda and her husband Ferrel Moosman of An-nabella; and the Bish Schows had daughter Maxine and husband Gail Alvey of Salt Lake City, all were here for the Glen Ormond funeral services held in the North ward chapel. Garna Willis and Judy Mclnelly visited in Henrievllle over the weekend with1 Donna Shaffer. Reva Bailey made it home from Mesa, Arizona and leports the new granddaughter and Sandra both doing fine, also the father Bob Porter thinks he will live now, Reva had the privilege of attending the Sunrise Services held on the Temple grounds Easter Sunday, then she flew to Page in less than two hours where Gall and Gloria met her. Mae Vonn Taylor made a trip to Page, Arizona to get her young son Jerry who had gone there to visit his Grand-ma Melba Gates; Melba's son Dean was in the hospital with complications from measles. Rol and Mlna Porter went to Provo to take Mina to a Dr. about a bump in her mouth, the Dr. sent her to a dentlsfso they went to Dr. Lars Peterson of Spanish Fork. John and Lola Zenz (continued on back page) ESCALANTE have been watching the obituaries for the name of Jim Jackson, but they finally heard from him, still on the turf back In New York. Those Zenz people aro literally tearing things up both in their yards and house, then they had business In Cedar City, and went to California to show Charley Fynan's wife the way to Escalante. Marjie Spencer went to Panguitch to give a speech at a District Home Ec. convention, she took her mother Lola Zenz to keep the wolves away and be company. All of the local school teachers except Jim and Janet Spencer took that class called "Science in the Nucler Age"; they went to Tropic every Monday night for ten lessons and had two field trips, the lessons are overwith now and the group all graduated. Stake Primary officers, Pres. Elda Haws, counselors Laura Baker and Lea Griffin and Sec. Dena Alvey went to Salt Lake for conference. The North ward Primary was reorganized with Areola Gates as Pres., Marlene Haws and Coleen Griffin as counselors and Almeda Haycock See. Clyde and Lillie Spencer went to conference visitlne their way up and back, Lillie caught cold and got a boil on her nose. Hal Shurtz and family and Bill Griffin and fami-ly went on a Spring vacation. Ionna Barney went to Salt Lake to see that new grandson then Wayne and Jill followed her tho conference weekend, It seems there was to be a special ball game up there also. S. J. and the Smith Alveys and family also Billie and Minnie Davis went to Provo where the children of the Ethan Hansens had prepared a celebration In honor of their Silver Wedding anniversary; they entertained around sixty relatives and friends at the Albert Gledhlll home. Smith and Billie bought new suits for the occasion; Smith's old cult coat was so long he had to kneel -down to reach the pockets and BilUe's old pants did not fit right, when he i stood at attention the pants were at ease, Minnie wanted him to get a two pants suit but he said with summer coming on he was afraid it would be too warm. Cal Porter has been kept busy taking Scouts on trips in sp'te of the storms; the Saddle and Sirloin Riding Club from Cedar City came and went down the desert for a weekend camping trip; Dar-rel Alvey Is the President and Ronald Mccham and Douglas Haycock are members. Two moro empty homes are Inhabited; tho Hilo Boyces and the Allen Pollocks are home from wintering in St George. Joe and Neta Pollock aro opening up the cafe on the right as you come into town. The Alvey brothers Slim and Smith have gone back to Long Valley to fence for Strong Construction Co. Mayor and Mrs. Claron 1 Griffin and daughter Pauline, also the Jim Spencers went to Phoenix, Arizona to visit the Qulnn Roundys; the Lay-ton Griffins also went to Phoenix and back by Page staying with Melba and Gaden Gates overnight Thelma Cottam went back to the Dam with Doyle to help him clean up a trailer house for him, Vlck . and Rodney to live in; Eva Dean and Beth Liston also visited at the Dam and will come back with Thelma. The Joe Schows went to Annabel-la to attend the wedding reception of their granddaughter Deon, daughter of the Fer-rel Moosemans who was wed -T-r-r -r-r-r-r-r -r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-rT-T I I at Ely, -Nev. to Russell Winn, son of the Lorin Winns from Richfield.
