Show I NEED FOR DEMOCRATIC REPRESENTATION On November 8 of this year the people of Utah will elect either a Democrat or a Republican governor. This being the case"! would like to point out the advantage Garfield County would have if both parties were represented In the commission. The commission would then be in a position to better negotiate with the party in bower and might be able to get some favors for our county. The holdover member In the commission is a Republican, thus the Republican Party is assured representation. I feel the people of Garfield County should very seriously consider electing Democratic representation to the Commission and other key political positions. There are some indications we probably will have a new state administration; I feel that with a new administration and with a new approach that important projects, ai the Cottonwood Road, could become a reality instead of something we just talk about It is important to have cooperation and unity within the commission. We cannot afford bickering and petty differences to delay the progress of those things we need to do. Just as important is the need of unity and cooperation with other counties in our area. By working together we can help one another get those things which are needed. We cannot afford to fight one another. Together we can be strong, divided we are not so strongs Sincerely, James D. (Dan) Perkins, Democrat Candidate for County Commissioner pd political ad |
