All in all it was quite a Merry Christmas, there were none in the community seriously ill, some did not feel so well the morning after. They failed to get TV here as scheduled, the freight line failed to bring some of the necessary gadgets. Some Items missed last week are that the John Normans have a baby girl; the Que Porters from up North came and spent the day with Aunt Al Porter. Flubbed again last week; Bobby Porter has never been Robert, he was christened Bobby and he won't even pass my place now, but if Bobby is a nick name for Robert why can't it be reversed My apologies Bobby. So many folks came for Christmas we are sure to miss some of them: the Lovell Twitchells had the Curtis Lar-sens from Cedar City and their daughter DeAnn camo from Arizona where she had been visiting with the Don Colemans, they brought her home and now Lillian will remain here with her parents, the DeRay Porters, and Don will go back and put in his remaining six weeks alone. The Hode Alveys had their daughter Ilene and her gentleman friend from Spring-ville, they left Sunday taking Florence Alvey as far as Cir-clevillo to stay a few days with her niece who is critically ill. , Ivan' and Nelda Willis had on Ellwood and family, the little girl has a bone Infection and has her foot in a cast; Norma Liston and children came from Las Vegas where she is teaching school and are spending the CJiristmas vacation with husband artdjjaddy Grant. Joe and Neta Pollock came from their jobs in that Moab country and had part of their families here, Danny Pollock and family came, Leon Spencer and his wife, De Lynn Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Roberts and two daughters from New Mexico, that is Neta's daughter Sherleneand family; the Roberts also visited at the Frank Imlay home, Imlays got word that their son Glen and family now have employment in Wyoming. The . Randal Lymans had their son Dick and daughter DeAnna home, Dick had Mary-Coombs to the dances and she was wearing a diamond, the way she looked at Dick it probably belonged to him. Gerald Haycock came In his little red car and brought his attractive girl friend; Marias and Marie Hall had daughter Jean and son Joe home. The Bill Websters had their daughter Atheda Husbands and small daughter from Kansas, Atheda is Primary President in their LDS Branch back there. The Ott Roundys had son Vernon Dean and family from North Emery; Mayor and Mrs. Claron Griffin had daughter and son-in-law, the Jim Sjencers from school at the BYU; they also visited his parents the J. Clyde Spencers, Spencers also had the Douglas Looslees from Richfield; the Neal Ltstons had daughter and son-in-law he Lamoine Pollocks from Green niver; the Al Foytrrs of Tropic spent Christinas at the Bit-lie Davit home; the Frank Sa vages of Pangultcb at the Ray Adair home; Delia Christiansen came from Cedar City and spent Xmas and then took her daughter Alice Ann and Janet Spencer to Cedar for a few dayr. Pratt Gates took the Charley Baileys to Cedar - where (continued inside) wwnwirwwwwwwirjrwwinrwinrwtririri ESCALANTE they caught a bus to join Ken and Helen Schow on a tour to California to take In the Rose Bowl affair. The Garlan Mitchells were here, he has finish' ed his. training at Fort Ord and is going to Fort Lewis, Washington, his wife will accompany him. First Lieutenant Charles R. Wilson of the Air Force was' a weekend guest at the Lenza Wilson home. Charles is in the Branch Presidency in Great Falls, Montana; he and his family are spending the holidays with her folks in Salt Lake City. The Usher Spencers had son Karl home from college; the S. J. Alveys had son and wife the Ray L. Alveys of Roy they held their usual Christmas breakfast and served thirty four. The Blake Robinsons had their kids, the Kay Staples of Richfield, their son Blake D. stayed with his sister Rhoda as her husband had to be taken to the hospital for an appendix operation, Ruth came home. The Robinson's Star Boarder, Jeff Thompson, took Blake's pickup and two friends Kay Gates and Milton Osborn to Cedar City for two days; Jeff had a front tooth knocked out and wanted it replaced for Christmas but failed. Morris and Neta Shirts had the J. Arthur Coopers home; the Sox Spencers had the Glover Smiths, they came from Nevada with a new car and look prosperous and happy. The Clayton Porters came from St. George and their daughter and son-in-law the Jed Smiths were here also. The Cliff Reynolds home had son Jim and family from Ka-nab; the Wallace Roundys had son Jerry and family of Mt Pleasant, also Ferrel Roundy. The college kids Ar-vonne Alvoy, Janeal Spencer, Milton Woolsey and Donald Liston came from his Job in Pangultch, h and brother Lynn wandered around looking lonesome without the lady school teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Gaden Gates went to Salina to spend the weekend with his mother and sisters. The Bobby Griffins made a trip to Richfield to meet their daughter Jerry Hulso to bring her home for Christmas. Bp. and Mrs. Lorell Munson ana family spent the holiday in Hurricane with his parents, the Leo Munsons. Bill Payno and family went to Texas for Christmas, Bill has spcut considerable time in Tropic working on the Bentonite mill he and Al Foster are building, it is almost completed and ready for operation, it's mostlj push button but will employ five or six men. The Griffins, Delano, Vernon and LaVcrn made it home, also Boyd Owens. The Walter Leibenguths went to Henrieville for a visit and brought Donna Shaffet home with them for a spell. In talking with ReNae Osborn found that Ruby Osborn and son Robert are still living in Logan and at present have gone back to Spokane, Washington to visit son and brother Hubert who is a dentist there. Gerald Thompson went to Provo to spend Christmas with his parents the Kenneth Griffins. We were not on the ball last week and missed the holiday parties put on by both ward Sunday schools and MIAS both wards put on Christmas Eve parties for the small children, they had programs, dancing and old Santa to give them goodies. The Smith Alveys went to Salt Lake to spend their after Christmas vacation. The Lawrence Chynoweths of Henrieville visited son Larry and family here. Coach Lewis Griffin took his ball boys on a tour for practice games to Enterprise and Emery. Speakers i n Sacrament meeting were North ward, Jerry and Ferrel Roundy, Louise Liston gave the talk she won the award on, then she and Ferrel sang, then Ferrel sang alone in German and Gcraldine Liston, Janet Spencer and Sandra Porter sang. In the South ward talks were given by Vonda and Ellwood Willis, Athcda Webster, Don Coleman and Gerald Haycock. Christmas is all over anu nerves are not so taunt; now folks can trade their presents in and get the things they want. |
