Show , NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals will be received by Iho State Road Commission of Utah, State Capitol, Salt Lake City, Utah, until 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 1959, and at that time publicly opened for construction of a 3Vfe" Plant Mix Bituminous Surfaced Road and Seal Coating In Garfield and Kane Counties, the same being that ; section of US. 89 from Asay Creek Northerly 5.8 miles to Hatch (F-027-2(2) and Seal Coating between Asay Creek and Alton Junction (State Project No. 1650) Identified as Federal Aid Project No.'s F-027-2(2) and State Project No. 1650. The length of road to be constructed or improved Is 17.956 miles, and the principal Items of work are approximately as follows: 26,1000 Tons of Plant Mix Bituminous Surface Type "A", 1848 Tons of Bituminous Material, 75,500 Tons of Gravel and 310,000 Cu. Yds. of Unclassified Roadway Excavation. The project is to be completed in 180 1 working days. Prequallfieatlpn of bidders is required. Prior to any bidders receiving plans and specifications, it will bo necessary that the bidder have on file with the State Road Commission of Utah completed and approved, the required Pre-qualification Statement pertaining to contractor's experience and financial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to the Special Provisions covering subletting or assigning the contract The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor employed on this contract shall be $2.86 ' per hour. ,Tho minimum wage paid to all intermediate labor employed on this contract shall be $2,325 pex hour. The minimum wage paid to all unskilled labor employed on this contract shall be $2.20 per hour. The cttcntion of bidders is directed to the fact that this Commission has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U.S. Department of Labor, that contractors engaged In highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of tho Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, (52 Stat. 1060). Proposal forms, plans, cross sections and specif ications are on file in the office of the State Road Commission, Salt Lake City, and the office of its District Engineer at Richfield, Utah where they may be reviewed by proscpcUve bidders. Specifications, proposal forms, and plans may be obtained at the Commission Of-k fices at Salt Lake City, upon application and payment of a fee of $10.00, no part of which will be refunded. Each bidder must submit a letter from an approved surety company guaranteeing to furnish said bidder with required bond. The right to reject any or all bids Is reserved. Cash, certified check, cashier's check, or approved proposal guarantee bond for not less than five per cent of total amount of bid made payable to the State Road Commission must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith and a vuarantee that if awarded the --mtract, the bidder will execute the contract and. furnish contract bond as required.
