Show SOIL CONSERVATION By Don L. Braithwaite Water seems to be the suIj-iject of discussion in this part lof the State. Mr. Jasper Henderson of Cannonville and Chairman of the Parla River SCD told me the irrigation water in his area is lower than last year. The rain gauge at Duck Creek revealed 2.6 inches of precipitation fell during the month of June. Sprinkler irrigation systems were, installed covering around 270 acres of farm land for Newell Steed and Hal Jensen of Antimony. They are .surely thrilled with the operations of the sprinklers. Mr. Dan Tebbs has just finished leveling about 5 acres lof land just west of town. Mr. Laural Stott and Warren Ben-idixen, Soil Scientists with the SCS, are conducting soil surveys in the Tropic and Cannonville area. Lowell Henrie of Panguitch and past chairman of the Upper SevierSCD has been reflected Chairman for the coming year. |
