Show Services For Mrs. Shurtz Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1, in the Escalante South Ward Chapel for Vesta LuCetta Shurtz, under the direction of Bishop Larell Muns6n. The prayer for the family was given by Errington Heaps. The opening song "In The;Garden" by Ver-da Liston and Veda Mitchell; Invocation, H. J. Allen; talk, W. R. (Billie) Barker; organ solo, Areola pates; talk, Wallace Roundyji song "When 1 Take My Vacation In Heaven" by Jean Griffin and Rhoda Bench, accompanied by Janeal Shurtz; Benediction, Hillo Boyce. The grave was dedicated by Augustus Twitchell. Mrs. Shurtz, .83, died April 27th of natural causes in Aurora. Born Dec. 2, 1874, in Es-calane, to Edwin and Vesta Bishop Twitchell, she lived most of her life in Escalante. A graduate of BYU, she taught school in a number of southern Utah towns 'for many years. She was an active member of the LDs church. In 1900 she married Perry M. Shurtz in the Manti LDS O Temple; he died March 17, 1955. Surviving are one foster son, George Hamilton, and 6 foster grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. |
