Show The Word From Boulder Since I didn't get the news reported for last week I'll begin by telling about the 17th of March party which was held Saturday night, March 16. A dinner consisting of chicken casserole, peas, whipped potatoes, noodles, cheese and pineapple salad, lemonade punch, hot rolls and prune roll was served by the food committee, Ruby. Ormond, Fern Coleman, Ulom Ormond, Dorthy Lyman, and Margie Griffin, assisted by Uyada Moosman, Ann and Linda King serving tables. A good representation of Boulder people attended and visitors: Reed and Mildred Je "en of Escalante, the Harvey Moosman family of Ogden, Ferrell Moosman and a friend of Annabel-la. Following the dinner a program was held with the following participants: Reading, if V Alice Alvey; Story, LaRcna Hall; Tall Tales. Lenora LeFe-vre; Song, Ann Heaps; Jokes, Ivan Lyman; Toast, Florenco Coombs, and a song" by David Rose. Margie Griffin acted as Mistress of Ceremony. News announcing the arrival of a baby girl Friday night, March 15. to Vernon and La Rae Roundy was received by the Clyde King family. The baby was born in Price, with LaRae's uncle, Dr. B. Kent Wilson, assisting the delivery. The proud parents have chosen Cheryl as the name for their new daughter. Gerry Shurtz, accompanied by her son Gary Dean, of Glen-dale. California, arrived in Boulder Sunday, March 17. for a week's visit with her family, the Clyde Kings. Burns and Blom Ormond, Cecil and Alice Alvey, Kirk Lyman. Pole and Margie Griffin attended the afternoon i t mutton fry sponsored by the Escalante Riding Club in Calf Creek, Sunday. Many of the Escalante Riding CluO members and two Panguitch members Dr. Wm Mason and Keith Frandsen added spice to the event by riding their horses from Escalante down the Escalante River. Mr. and Mrs. LeFalr Hall and sons made a business trip to Cedar City ast week. Carl Shurtz has been spend ing some time in Boulder working on the Cafe that Gertrude Ormond is constructing. Speakers in Suiday School were Layton Griffin and, Starns Mecham of Escalante. Delores Hansen, Jerry Coleman, and Ivan Lyman drove to Cannonville Sunday afternoon to receive their natriai-chal blessings. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Jeppsen went to Richfield last week on business. A party was' held Sunday evening for the fourth and fifth graders given by their Sunday School teacher, Mrs. Faye Jeppsen, ai her home. Emeron Peterson returned home Sunday after a week's tour to California with the Utah Stockmen. The trip, which was sponsored by the Livestock Producers for the purpose of promoting cooperative marketing, included visits to feeding lots, auctions. large ranches and feeding centers. Garfield County was represented with four stockmen, Deo Hatch, Carl LeFevre, Tom Dodds and Emeron Peterson. Otto Haws is negotiating the sale of his race horse Uranium King. Reports are that the horse will be purchased by Harry Larson. Should the sale; be. made we will all miss the suspense of the racing meets that was added by having a local entry. |
