Show Panguitch High School News . IJV WAYNH OWKNS Ending the basketball season for rangultch last Friday at the Round Robin In Richfield were . the Rams from Monroe's South Sevier High School, as they forged ahead to a nine point victory. Robert Santos, 'one of Monroe's better players, helped our Bide with a beautltut hoop shot in our basket, shortly after the half. The game for the first, three quarters was a nip and tuck fight, but In the last part of , the last quarter, South Sevier slowly edged forward, and beau ing us, qualified themselves for a game Saturday' (which. they ' lost). This put Fanguftch out, of ""the tournament,. as we also were beaten Thursday night by Rich-- field. This game, was Pangultch's ball game, or so it seemed, as we lead all the way, and with but ,Jhree minutes remaining, in the ball game, had a three point lead. Catching a second breath which seemed to elude us, Richfield rallied fast and hard; passed us, and won the game. A- popular topic of conversation lately has been the fact that Panguitch needs a new gym. "If we had one that would seat' enough people," you'd hear as you walked down the hall, "we could hold the Round Robin here every three years, and pay for the gym In ten or fifteen years." "Resides, look at all the money that would be spent here in town," a faculty member would join In, "thousands of dollars for food and lodging, as well as all the other things a kid on the loose buys." Seems like all we need is the money. Wonder what the Governor would say if we all wrote him a letter asking for eighty thousand dol-lais for a new gym. This, then. Is a word to the wise. I wish It could b e sufficient. Governor Lee, however, la not a man to make rash premises to schools. Bryce , Valley High. School and all of Tropic, are in for a treat next Monday as Mrs Black has been asked to bring her Dance Review over. The Dance Review drew virtually every- body In Panguitch, and many from Hatch and Spry, when it was presented two weeks ago, and no one left the hall feeling that they hadn't spent the evening well. There's mention down hero about the Junior Prom which will be held a week from tomorrow night, Friday March 18th, "Japanese Sunset" has been sel-ected as the' theme, and according to those who know, their decorations will be truly outstand Ing. It you saw the prom last year, you'll probably be back to see this one. In fact, If you saw last year's prom, they probably, couldn't keep you away. And I am not" only saying this because I helped on last year's pralse-wlnnlng prom. This Is the outstanding social event of each year, a Panguitch goes all out to make it such. Everybody should come to see the pretty decorations and us handsome kids. I am going. Seniors get In free. |
