Show How National ForestRevenue Helps West And Local Area The States of Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming have received IS69.98S.27 as their share of lntermountuln National Forest receipts for thti Fiscal Year 1954. Under Acts of Congress, 21 percent of the National Forest rtvenue Is returned annually to the States where It Is earned. Kach county containing National Forest land then receives Its proportion of the fund which Is earmarked by law for expenditure on public schools and public roads. Returns to the States fiou the Lntermountaln National Forest resources In each were: Nevada S39.269.4 8; Wyoming $53.-232.11; Utah $150,488.40: Ida ho $326,995.28; California $3,-572.79; and Colorado $580.12 Garfield County will receive. $16,338.00 as that portion received by the State of Utah. Sources of the revenues are kales of national forest timber, fees for grating livestock, charges for Und uses like summer home sites, and other public property uses or rentals. New range reseedlng, more tulles of timber access roads, small watershed and other land restoration projects are adding up to future Increased local benefits from the use of the national forest resources.
