Show Santa Claus Flies To Panguitch Pan Santa Claus made his way into town Saturday right on schedule Mel Rushing flew Clew him in and landed on the highway north of town about two miles They taxIed tax- tax led the plane down the highway vay with the highway patrolman for this area clearing the way The streets were lined with J kids ids and grown ups alike all wanting to see both the airplane and Santa Mel Iel had flown his plane to Richfield where he was to meet Mr Claus Glaus and hustle him to Panguitch so he could find out what the kids wanted before he he had to fly on to other towns As the plane approached the th parking place in front of the theatre Santa Claus threw back the canopy and stood up to re receive re- re the plaudits of the crowd and to wave his greeting After the plane had come to a complete stop and engines had been cut 01 Ol Santa made his way over to the the- curb with his sack full of candy for the kids Many of the youngsters with questions and desires to shake Santas Santa's hand came forth for a talk with the jolly old gent After the children young oung and old old got their candy the younger young young- er set were admitted to the theatre for a special matinee Man Many pictures were taken by bythe bythe bythe the local people of the lauding landing the airplane and Santa Claus talking to the children The meeting with St. St Nick was due to the efforts of the Jaycees and Lions Club They made arrangements arrangements arrangements ar ar- ar- ar to have Mel meet him and fly him down A lot of or credit is due both clubs and to lel Rushing RUshing- for helping out The affair was pleasing to young and old for it isn't very often that an airplane Is seen traveling along the highway nor parked in the of a city As Mel Mel took off in the early afternoon he flew low and gave the few people who watched the take of off a two pass job buzz-job and waved goodbye goodbe as he finally flew away |
