Coincident with tho growth of the movement canio announcement an-nouncement a from Milwaukee and Cleveland that tho prlco of meat had dropped. In Milwaukee, two retail butchers quoted porterhouse steaks at 10 cento a pound, a sirloin at tho samo prlco and other meats in proportion. The wholesale price of beef fell off 15 cents a hundred pounds In Cleveland. Dispatches from Kalians City, Baltimore, Bal-timore, Milwaukee. Omaha, Memphis, Pittsburg and other cities, told of tho rapid growth of tho movement. Cleveland, Cleve-land, credited with being the originator origina-tor of the scheme, now has 30,000 names enrolled in tho crusade, whllo Kansas City reports that It may soon have 80.000. Tho heads of tho leading packing houses of Kansas City and Chicago refused to discuss the effect of tho movement upon their business. From Denver comes the report that tho growing movement to boycott meat has aroused stockmen of the west to a protest that the effect of tho boycott will bo 'against the stockmen stock-men rather than against the packers.
