Show SPECIAL MEETING OF GARLAND COMMERCIAL CLUB The Garland Commercial Club met In special session nt the Town Hall Monday evening (or tho purpose of transacting some Important business matters that Interests the citizens of our town nnd the residents or Snow-vllle. Snow-vllle. Vlcc-prest. O. L. Winters was In the chair. A communication from J. C. Cutler Cut-ler nnd Thos. W. Roe of Snowvllle, requesting the cooperation of the Onrlnnd Commercial Club In establishing establi-shing a telephone lino between this city and Snowvllle, was rend to tho members present. After discussing i the matter tho secretary, II. P. Otto, was Instructed to write the genera manager of the It. M. D. Tel. Co. asking ask-ing that such sorvlce bo granted. The citizens of Snowvllle havo the poles on hand and nre anxious to havo tho lino established as soon as possible. Tho matter meets with the - hearty approval of tho Commercial V Club nnd the residents of Garland. The secretary was also Instructed to confer with the Town Board in tho matter of furnishing better lights for the street corners of town nnd to write D. E. nurlcy of tho O. S. L. It. It. Co. requesting that electric lights bo put in the bulldng nnd around the grounds of tho O. S. L. depot In this city. This last named matter Is an excellent ex-cellent move as Incoming pnssengers on the night trains nre left in total larknoHs as soon as they leave tho train nnd should have been attended to long n go. |
