Show Three Funerals. J W OUTIIItlK Sir. and Sirs. J. C. AVhcelon went to Ogden Monday to attend tho funeral services ser-vices of J. W. Cuthrlo who 'lied last Saturday at Ogden. The services wero held at 2 p. in., Monday, at tho Slasonlc Hall. Slunns of this city, who died In Lehl, Utah, Nov. 2nd 1000, ago 80 years, 4 months and 18 days. Among tho relatives In attendance at fio services wero: Chas. Slunus of this city, Arthur Sluuns of Brlglmm city, Harry Slunns of Smith field nnd Sirs. Emma Lindsay of Ogden. III8II0I1 JACOII M BIXIUST Very Impressive funeral (.crvlces over tho remains of Bishop Jacob SI. Sccrist were held at tho Farmlugton Ward meeting houso lust Friday at 2 p. m. Tho attendance was very large tho building being too small to accommodate the turnout. Tho floral offerings were numerous und beautiful. Prior to tho services tho remains wero taken to tho vestry of tho meeting houso and an opportunity op-portunity given relatives and friends to view them Hyrum Grant, president of the Davis Stako, took churgo of the services. The ward choir furnished tho singing. Following wero tho speakers: Stake President Hyrum Grant, Counselors J. D. Wood and Jacob Sillier, Orsou Soulo, nephew of tho deceased, Bp. Ivcrscu and John Henry Smith of Salt Lako City aud Stako Counselor Jesse SI. Smith, A large cortego followed the remains to tho cemetery. Dcceaserl possessed a good deal of ex-" cutlvo ability and was a good financier. He was a director In a number of bust ness concerns. Had been bishop of Farmliigton about flfteou years; served os county commissioner and was tho youngest member of tho company that went to S'au Pete Co. to quell tho troubles troub-les during the Illackhuwk Indian war. Ho leaves a wife and six children; all married but tho youngest daughter. |
