Show ekr MINUTES OF CITY city council met in regular session tuesday evening those present being mayor simonson councilmen glover jensen bargeron and johnson councilman bunderson excused E M tyson member ot of the board of education and C 11 skidmore superintendent erin crin of schools appeared relative to electric energy for lighting the high school ab B 11 petitioning council to supply the necessary electric energy free of charge the board of education to assume al leodense lex pense Dense 0 flama maintenance te nance petition granted mr brooks representing the central trust co appeared and presented a proposition to convert a portion or all ot of certain municipal bonds of 0 brigham city into serial bonds Refe referred ried to committee on finance and city manager tor for investigation and report report of 0 H J marble covering period from sept ath to dec 21 1922 presented showing 53 animals impounded and expense of 0 same accepted report of nels jenson ex city judge covering period from march 28 1921 to dec 31 1 submitted showing civil and criminal cases filed also that the tees fees lines fines and forfeitures forfeiture 3 collected amount to accepted communication read from ladles ladies civic improvement club by mrs airs wynn L eddy prudent expressing appreciation for tho the operation cooperation co of 0 tho the city in the community christmas tree celebration A motion carried that all churches schools and public buildings be metered on or before march 31 1923 city recorder submitted list of exemptions empt ions from culinary water tax in effect during year 1922 after due consideration the list was revised for the year 1923 manager recommended that council entertain a claim tor for each account covering the year 1923 adopted the matter of 0 proposed parking district south main street discussed manager authorized to prepare specifications and estimated cost of covering installation of sprinkling system maintenance of lawns trimming I 1 and maintenance of trees etc city recorder submitted list of delinquent lin quent well accounts recorder authorized to notify said delinquents that service will be discontinued it if account Is not paid on or before march 31 1923 mayor simonsen recommended that council consider the matter of the city purchasing additional ground for park purposes stating that lie he felt not enough attention has been given toward providing places for recreation purposes matter taken under advisement vi mayor simonsen further recommended certain alterations in the city hall tor for the purpose of providing additional working space tor for the officers therein the mayor stated that with the growth of the city and consequent increase of work the present space is inadequate matter referred to councilman J johnson and city manager mayor simonsen presented request from lorenzo jeppson to the effect that the grade be completed on both sides of the paved highway on south main street et referred to councilman glover tor for investigation councilman jensen reported report ad that N J nelson and others desire that the tha sidewalk line on third west street between second and third south streets be designated referred to councilman glover with power to act |
