The members of tho Taunton, Mass., Har association thought they ought to havo a patron saint, hut nfter much wrangling they could not hit upon up-on any particular saint. Finally a committee, of which Mr. Maxwell wns a niontbor, wns appoint ed to mako n selection. Thoy mndo a trip to New York, and thero visited a gallery whoro most of tho saints wero carved In mnrblo. It was decided to leavo tho selection to Mr. Maxwell, and after making tho rounds ho plnccd his hand on one In n group of two. "This ono will do," ho said. Ho had his hand on the devil, whom St. Michael Mi-chael was driving before him. |
