Show ar A R jtb if ITC S 11 1 C E T lial A A V 4 24 4 4 N i A 4 4 4 I 1 14 1 4 04 in af 4 i armistice day 1918 the people of brigham were wild with joy the bells rang and i shouts of exultation were heard all over town men shed tears and women unashamed wept in sheer happiness that the long strain was over and that peace was promised to a war cursed world the street in front of the court house was packed with our best N citizens who met in an impromptu celebration and there gave thanks to the god of battles as well as of peace for our victory and in no uncertain manner re dedicated ourselves to honor democracy and free institutions we there and then solemnly promised each other to help aid and assist the boys who so nobly traveled over land and sea to fight it iti i the battles of down trodden europe after four years years these same boys tell us it is impossible in pi to get up a celebration on armistice day because they can get no support from N 4 the business men and citizens of brigham this is not as it should be the high ideals ideal it iti it iti i i 4 i of the rotary club and the kiwanis club mate mae a duty for their members to lead in as laudable an undertaking as this fellows why not let us keep this day in mind and take 4 4 the lead next year we are sure the people will unanimously follow our lead in assisting i 4 the boys s of the american legion in fittingly armistice day 4 4 |
