| Show citizens complain over neglect to clear sidewalks Chil children drell forced to walk to school gli deep snow saturday morning several residents have remarked luring during the past wook week on the neglect by tile the city council in fit not scraping walks saturday morn deep snow reports have come in fit ing of last fast week following tile tho that thero there were walks that had not been cleared up to the middle of this week true it is that sonie some of tho the walks had been cleared by after afternoon I 1 saturday Satur dav but by that thai k time children going to and from froin school had a trail through the snow in many places until after noon saturday many walks had not been cleared and persons persona were forced to elther either walk or stand in snow up noar near their amoos while those thase they met were allowed to pass along tile the narrow trail that had been created by the school children true we should congratulate the members of the city council on their economic attitude toward the public funds but those who pay taxes expect something for their money and are entitled to at least a small amount of service and tor for that mattar if there Is not enough money in the city treasury to hire someone to clear the walks there are those who would gladly contribute to a fund for that purpose |
