FOR NAVY AVY MAIN BIN BEINO RESUMED during the past year many young men from the intermountain region who wished to join the navy could not be accepted because the quota tor for this district averaged only 10 first enlistments per moi month ath genco many desirable applicants were turned away from the navy recruiting it stations in this section due to the necessity for or economy many ot of the navy recruiting sub stations east of tile the mississippi river have been closed and only the san diego calif naval training station has been retained in full commission the monthly quota ot at apprentice seamen seame n authorized to be enlisted from utah idaho montana and wyoming has been increased to 42 for each the months ot of august I 1 september and october it is expected that this quota will be still further increased beginning in n no vember according to word received by the navys district recruiting headquarters at salt gait lake city
