that purpose was read and approved the nominating committee submitted its report and after comment and explanation the following men were elected anam bously to the various positions president brigham club and gave the brigham Kiwan ians some good and timely advice dr R E porter president of the logan kiwanis club extended to the Brig the best wishes of logan he said the logan Kiwan ians were per cent strong and were composed of some of the best fellows in cache valley he also brought out forcibly importance of working hand in hand with other clubs and organizations to bring about the aims and ideals of the kiwanis club prof A at durham in answer to the question what does kiwanis mean to you said the thing which means most to melis meis the splendid fellowship meetings each week the knowledge obtained from coming in contact with each other and the wonderful possibilities for service ervice he told of some same of the things the kiwanis club had done for logan and what was on the program for this year rev allen alien jacobs brought out the point that enthusiasm begets enthusiasm that as time went on and the club grew and developed that enthusiasm would increase in proportion moses thatcher brought forcibly the importance of starting out slowly and gradually working into the harness by comparing the club to a race horse taken onto the track while under condition even though it has been well fed he said dont step two fast for the first mile and it will leave you a surplus of energy for the finish he also said that to him the spirit 01 of kiwanis was a revelation it is not a religion nor i is s it political but with close study it will be found that it t harmonizes with the scriptures and add with w lih religion it is is a most wonderful organization and I 1 highly commend it frank L west said that he was very enthusiastic enthusiast le about the club and that it was doing wonderful work in logan he also expressed his appreciation of being the guest of the brigham kiwan ians H E hatch Kl kiwanis wanis is one of the splendid things which make us better TO me the luncheons are a wonderful means of relaxation the good fel howship and songs makes one forget all abo about ut the busy day and starts one oui afresh with new strength and vigor he also admonished the club not to try to do too much the first year but to do more as it started out right he told of the possibilities found in organization and illustrated his remarks by a story of a trip through the asylum at provo he wondered why the inmates were not dangerous and I 1 finally asked the guide if he were not afraid the men would organize and become uncontrollable able the guide answered these men are crazy they dont know enough to organize mr Gordon then told of the importance of business men becoming acquainted he said that as they learned to know each other letter better that even bankers were human that the brigham kiwanis club was going to be a big asset to logan and cache county as the two would fie brought much closer together the dewely elected officers than thanked lied the club for the honor given them and requested the support of the members miss vera preston rendered a beautiful piano solo and the meeting was adjourned after deciding that the regular df weekly luncheons would bo ba held bild on wednesdays at |
