friday evening the details of the program were worked out by the members of the classes and the entire party took possession of the carter home when mrs carter was not there so that upon her return she was given a great surprise the time was spent in games and mu music 3 interspersed with the serving of a dainty luncheon the function was arranged as a means of stimulating greater interest in the work of the organization and it succeeded admirably koctar the deseret camp of the daughters odthe of the pioneers met friday evening at the home of mrs airs C IN forsgren the meeting was waa in honor of mrs airs francis ann smith formerly of 0 this city but now residing at smithfield and mother of mrs forsgren and also in honor 0 of the late martin L ensign and wife A sketch of the life of mrs smith was given by miss grace forsgren vocal solos by miss bliss florence jones A sketch ot of the lives of bf martin L ensign and wife was given by their daughter mrs emma lee reading by mrs alice ellason eliason during the social hour refreshments were served by mesdames lana alvord martha J rees edith ff jensen and gene B kotter hotter thirty members were present mrs P W jarvis entertained friday fr 1 afternoon at a delightful chil childrens party in honor 0 of the fourteenth birthday anniversary of her daughter helen st valentines ideas were carried out in the decorations decoration i and in serving luncheon luncheon A largo 9 e decorated birthday cake centered the luncheon table with covers laid tor for thirty guests during the afternoon the children were entertained with games and a valentine box the social development club met friday afternoon at the home ot of mrs noble fishburn mrs fishburn was assisted by mrs airs henry frogley mrs mary olsen gave a very instructive talk on childrens foods plans for a dancing party to lo be given in the near future were discussed luncheon was served to fourteen members present and the following guests ales mesdames rees wight francis fishburn mary olsen dan petersen mesdames henry C chapman and C I 1 smith will be hostesses to the ladies aid and missionary society at a social afternoon to be given at the home of mrs chapman on friday afternoon teri hernoon loon this week at social mrs airs C E fowler entertained at luncheon on monday afternoon complimentary to the committee members of which came from logan ogden and kaysville Kays ville as well as front from this city plans for or to be hem held in this city in april were discussed and the ladles ladies enjoyed a social hour also social the rotary club held high carnival in the commercial club rooms on friday night the occasion n being the first ladles ladies night given by the club in consequence each rotarian Ro tarlan was accompanied compa nied by his wife or sweetheart and as a the ladles ladies entered the room they drew a number from a box which number corresponded with a attached to the button of one of the members of the club which was placed at a plate at the table the rotarians lans found their places and then stood at attention until the ladies found their dinner partners when president harold C day rapped the table with the gavel announced the first verse of america and the entire e sang the national hymn after being seated president harold introduced john W peters as master of ceremonies and turned the gavel over to him the lid ild was then oft off for for tho the evening and hilarity reigned supreme while tho the fruit cocktail was being disposed of a number of tines fines were imposed by the toastmaster tor for alleged infractions eions of the rules of decorum songs were sung with piano accompaniment by prof E david mann and good nature titre d banter banter flowed balik back and orth forth I 1 iiran n an eight present the post office employees entertained saturday evening at the commercial club in compliment to mr air E AL tyson retiring postmaster games were played until when a dell clous luncheon
