Show A 2 BOARD FAVORS FUND from salt lake Tribu tribune tio A proposed bill designed to put a school equalization fund into operation in utah and to i provide a minimum school program was approved hy by the state board ot u education tuesday at a meeting in the office of state superintendent of schools 0 na N jonsen jensen tho the bill was arranged by a committee appointed by dr jenson jensen the proposed measure relating to tho the minimum um school pro program grani provides that all schools shall bo be in session for ac least nine months each year that only teachers with certificates can ba b hired that equi will bo be up to toa la standard set by tho the state board and that tho the teacher load shall not be greater than a set limit tho the draft of the bill also provide ii that no school district shall be eligible to participate in equalization until it has raised a 55 mill tax on property valuations which shall be commensurate with si millar properties in other portions of tho the state the bill provides that money for the equalization fund will hotbo not bo available for distribution until money from now new sources lightens the burden upon property |
