where time takes on some puzzling changes change roughly along the degree of longitude there Is fixed what Is called the international dateline date dato line 11 and here today and tomorrow actually meet each other it if a vessel were steaming from the FIJI islands toward samoa at 1155 p m on monday night and crossed the dateline date line ten minutes later it would actually have the whole of monday before it again as aa the time would ini lp 11 t a nM jitt on the morning of the same day had the ship 11 been sailing in the opposite direction it would have approached the dateline date line in the first few min utes of monday and on cross crossing liar ns line it would have started ca c a new day tuesday and thus havo lost an entire day so in this locality it Is possible for yesterday to become today in it a few seconds or today to change into tomorrow in the same short space of time
