Show TROOP MEMBERS t EXAMINED last evening all the men who enlisted in the national guard in this city two years ago were given the physical examination by dr jansen of ogden drs IV L smith geo M fister and E A of this city the examination was conducted in the rooms ot of the county commissioners in the court house and all the men passed muster except john and city marshal W N lee it is the current report that the reason tor for rejecting the city marshal was a consideration tor for the horse that would have to carry him it being a cardinal principle in ille the army that there must be no cruelty to animals practiced having met the physical requirements the matter ot of organizing the troop will now be proceeded with with dispatch lieutenant colonel fred jorgensen the state adjutant general and captain M L young were both present at the examination last evening and they returned to salt lake city after its completion they will return to this city on monday ot of next week and proceed with the details of selecting officers and putting the troop in shape to receive the governmental examination after which the equipment will be ordered and supplied sentiment is growing more kindly every day among the enlisted men themselves toward the job ahead of them but no man mail will be retained who will suffer personal loss after the troop has passed government muster A great many ot of the young men of the community are arc evincing an interest in the troop so it is fully anticipated that the roster will easily be filled up after the discharges begin to come |
