presided id d A lecture tho the life of col kane was given by dana F findlay pioneer jokes and humor by lean leah F V findlay indian legends and traditions by rachel hachel mao mae 13 mace and bortha bertha riggs the hostesses served delicious refreshments tho the meetings of tho the various camps of the daughters of the T utah pioneers are well attended this year everyone seems booms to bo be enjoying tho the programs on the history of kano county our pioneer women anre delighted with tile tho arrangement mailo made by the camps of having a camp meet each wook week thus affording thorn them weekly entertainments those these older women are called for and taken to and irom hom the meetings in cars cara provided by special transportation committees of the various arlous Iv camps it Is a joy to watch tho faces and hear bear tho the remarks of those pioneer women when the various historical incidents of their early lives are reviewed tho the camps of chanab kanab are surely living up to the objects of tho the organization wherein it says the object of this society shall be to perpetuate tho the names and achievements ot of the men and women who were tho the plo noora in fit founding this commonwealth by reviewing the lives of the tha plo pioneers teaching their descendants and the citizens citizen fi of our country lessons of falth faith courage and patriotism and by creating a spirit of union and fellowship among tile the posterity of plon pioneers cors A house warming was given november 17 by mr and mrs hayden church tho the evening was spent playing cards tho the M 1 I A annual membership ball was a great success in tile the contest between the married and the single the prize was given to the married people for the best beat attendance carnival specialties were a feature of tho the evening tho the gold and green cotillion was waa beautifully demonstrated by mcallister and hubert helen pugh and thurman fuller lorna and merrill laverda pugh and boyd me ale allister All later the L L L met november 15 at the home of mrs david L pugh mrs june juile mcallister acting as hostess president ora W eatough took charge of the meeting and the following program was waa given lecture 1 I longress congress and its legislature mrs isabello isabelle rust discussion led by mrs matle alet jin piano solo mrs mra illane P young delicious attention to all who desire it A special entertainment was hold held tuesday november 23 at the L D S chapel in honor of tile the outgoing 0 officers of tho the relief society an officers meeting of the southern division of tho the utah federation of womans comans clubs was held wednesday november 21 project work for the division was talked over and it was decided to ask each federated club tn in the district to buy a book selected from a list furnished by mrs kate Al macfarlane acfarlane Z each ach book Is to bo be reviewed in the club then passed on to the other clubs of the division to use A special effort Is being made to got get every womans comans club in ill southern utah to join the tha division so that the women of this section can got get together and work for the social betterment and improvement of the south it is amazing the civic and social work that has boon been put over by women in other parts of the state and nation why not adopt this method of helping ourselves and this part of the ho country two or oc the strongest motives actuating club work aro are desire for friendly social intercourse with ity tor for intellectual development and it a desire tn be of service it the cluba in 1 tile the towns and communities of southern utah would cooperator coop cooPe erato rafia and become hotter better acquainted they would be a power for good and could aid considerably in the development of the south it Is just as important that women heru here understand problems of conservation which affect the permanency of our industries and scenic beauties as anywhere else in these times it Is not enough tor for a woman to understand der stand just her own home to enow now about this wonderful state with it its game its scenic wonders its mineral resources its mountains its pro vales and the abo problems attached to each Is a lego or of every woman in utah I 1 to bo be a good club member a woman must know something ot of these things so lot us get other subjects of interest to young mothers and homo makers new officers will be elected at tho the next meeting and the constitution and bylaws will bo be voted upon mrs pruda hamblin and mrs helen
