Show sister mcclelland laid to rest mineral funeral services were held at tropic TOPIC r sunday morning november 9 01 for sarah ann batty mcclelland olland who died friday at tile alio homo home from causes cassea incidental to old age tho the exercises were conducted by first counselor maurice laurice Ai cope with bishop john II 11 johnson presiding choir sang tho the deepening trall tria Is throng your way prayer was offered by alder 1 der joseph II 11 johnson Joh naon choir sang eang sister thou wast MIN mild and lovely the speakers wore were bishop F 0 gardiner and president W J hender riender son of panguitch Pan gultch and elder maurice COPO cope of tropic all of whom paid beautiful tribute to tile the life of slater sister mcclelland olland choir sang closing hymn farewell all earthly honors 11 W W littlefield offered the benediction singing was conducted by rollo oram there wore were many beautiful floral offerings A large crowd of friends and relatives from the adjoining wards were present at the services tho the body was taken to the pan gultch city cemetery where the north ward choir under tho the direction of grover sang 0 my father the casket was opened to let relatives who were unable to reach tropic view the deceased after which the grave was dedicated by elder david J sarah ann daughter of george and r emma elm natty batty was born september I 1 1854 at pilly yorkshire england at the ago of eight years she came with her parents to america sail sailing 1 ng in the good ship Tab ascot arriving ng at new orleans in ih the early autumn of 1862 from there they stilled sailed up the river to florence nebraska they crossed the plains in a company under the leadership of the late president I 1 joseph fielding smith and francis 11 lyman who were returning from a mission in england arriving in salt lake city october 1862 she was baptised baptized sed february 22 1863 by job P hall and confirmed the sa same me lay day by J T willis they continued their residence at salt lake city until they moved south when they settled at toquerville utah on july 11 1870 sho she married david and moved to spring valley nevada whore where they continued to reside until april 1871 when the family moved to panguitch Pan gultch on december 20 1882 her husband died leaving her with a family of six small children on march 31 1886 she married thomas themas mcclelland and tour four children were born to this union several years later they moved to tropic where she continued to reside until the time of her death she bile was left a widow the second time when thomas mcclelland adli april 10 1923 she la Is survived by the following children george D william J joseph richard and edward mcclelland and hannah nellson neilson of tropic R brandon Shake of panguitch Pan gultch nora mcclelland lefevre and leah mcclelland willis of babl ona utah seventy five grand children and twenty four great grandchildren sister mcclelland olland passed through many pioneer experiences all of which made her more firm birin in the falth faith sho lived a very unselfish life and her time was spent in giving service to those in need of help she never neglected her duties as ward worker and left many friends and will long bo be remembered ten |
