Show the st state ate fish and game department and the government are doing something for us now in tile the way of improvements in the f fishing sh byron Hanchet tand a nian man from the state department adie were here and placed sam dark clark on ipson crek creak and the government has a gentleman na named med johnson there several troughs troug hs have been moved from the old hatchery at blue springs and the taking of spawn is in progress A trip up there divulged the fact that they have over eggs in the temporary hatchery and are going to make atrial a trial hatching but owing to the temperature of the water we are of the opinion that it will take a long time to hatch tile the eggs As this is only an experiment to see if enough wild spawn can be taken from ipson creek it is hard to tell just what will be the outcome of the venture we are arc anxiously awaiting developments in our opinion and from watching i the streams we are af afraid fr aid it isa is a little late for taking spawn we truly hope that if enough eggs are arc not gathered thi this season tile the state and government will give us another trial earlier next season when we are sure enough can be taken to make it profitable we are also positive that water of the right temperature can be procured in several places especially at the showalter ranch and the springs can be confined to a retaining pond of cement where the can be settled and used to quite a hatchery we are mighty 91 glad d to see fu f departments taking hold of things in in the proper manner and believe that great things will be developed by them as the work is in the experimental stage the whole section of southern utah can be supplied from this section retain ing ponds can call be built and the fish stored until they become fin finger gerlings ings and able to look out for themselves then there will be no fear of sharp walkers effot getting them after they pass tile the fingerling stage the common fish that are in the ilie lake will then be great reat tood food for them we believe that to be the only solution to the sharp walker problem crowd them out commissioner madsen promises us another visit this spring and lias has taken a different view of pan duitch lake which we are mighty glad to note and we feel confident that this gentleman will do something for us in a big way in the very near future good for you mr madsen and we promise to boost for this all we can and W will ill he help lp to encourage people to walk in the right path and we are quite positive they will if they know that some effort is being made to stock the streams in t the he proper manner giving us some encouragement in the way of attention oti from those 14 up north we are with you tooth and n nail a il and know that every person in southern utah will be also |
