fifteen bills introduced during the five days the senate getting away with a clean start had elected the president of the senate and passed two measures on monday the first day of the session but the house although it elected its ita speaker during the first days session was waa not sufficiently organized to transact further business until wednesday when at a joint session of the house and senate governor charles mabey delivered his message governor mabey m i n his message laid especial emphasis on denouncing denoun chig freakish legislature disregard for one law tends to cre creato to disrespect for all laws said the governor and ho he asked the members to exercise restraint in legislative legisla tivo enactments commendation may bo be given speaker of the house in his appointment of the house committees absolutely without reference to lines each committee being appointed according to the speakers estimate pf af the appointees ability in tho the particular lino line assigned about the only criticism that any one could makenas make mak ewas was that in a house of which forty four members were republican as against eleven four committee committed memberships were allotted measures were sent to the governor for his signature and the senate adjourned until monday with fair prospects of being able to put in an active week at the work of legislating all the preliminaries
