Show The Nineteenth Century Club .Another pleasant and profitable afternoon was spent yesterday by the members of the .Nineteenth Century club, at the home of Mrs. E. A. Wedgwood. Wedg-wood. After the reading of the minutes of tne previous meeting, a numDer of brief sketches were read. "Boseuet," a French prelate, Miss Helen Brinker-hoff; Brinker-hoff; "Massillion," a French pulpit orator, Miss Kellogg: "Fenelon," a French bishop, Mrs. R .ss; Rouseean, ' a French philosopher, Mrs Reed; "Votaire," a jfrench author, MiBS Ida Jones. The current events of the week were reviewed by Mra, Reed- After a short recess, roll vas called and eyery member present responded with a quotation. The Burns' Memorial committee made its final report. A program from Burns has been arranged. An invitation invita-tion will be extended to a number of the lady friends of the club to meet with them on January 25lh. Mrs. E. A. Weagwood reviewed "The Review of Reviews," giving a character sketch of John Burns, also a sketch of Dr. Henry S. Lunn, who is to pay a brief visit to America. The rescue and relief work as accomplished by the New York Industrial alliance and Mr. Bryce's new cnapter about the United States were the principal topics reviewed. The club then adjourned ad-journed for one week. The ladies present were : Mesdames Wedgwood, Reed, Robs, Bonham, Coray, Monahan, Bartow, Misses Ida Jones, Stella Brown, Helen Brinker-hoff Brinker-hoff , Rose Moore, Jennie and Frankie French, Alice Kellogg.
