I To the Citizens of Provo : The undersigned haying met in pursuance pur-suance of a mutual agreement, for the purpose ot arranging some definite plan for the election, on December 6th next, of suitable persons as school trustees from the several wards.regard-less wards.regard-less of politics, respectfully Bubmit the following as the result of that conference: confer-ence: I. It was unanimously agreed that non-political mass mf-etings be held in the respective municipal wirds lor the purpose of nominating trustees. II. That recognizing the unsatisfactory unsatisfac-tory mode ol nominating candidates at the election for trustee i oi two yer8 aco, in that in one or two of the warda at least there were active 0 irtiean contests con-tests over the the nominations, it was agreed that nominatiouu be made of men who, though having definite political poli-tical affiliations, are deemed both conservative con-servative and capable, and to this end we recommend to the voter? that they support nominees as follows: In each of the First, Second and Third wards, a repuolican, who shall be nominated by democrats; and in each of the Fourth and Fifth wards, a democrat who shail be nominated by republicans. HI That the following named gentlemen gentle-men act as a citizens campaign com-mittee,whose com-mittee,whose dutv it shall be to see that the agreement entered into and unanimously unani-mously adopted at the meatini: of the Provo precinct and city co nmitteea of bom democratic and republican parties held at the county courthouse on Thursdav evening, November 22, 1894, is fully observed and ca ried out: First ward Reed Smcot, and Samuel A King. tecond ward Thomas John ana James Gray. IV That the action of the under-. signed committeemen be communi- j cated to ths public through the daily press of this city. In conclusion we earnestly urge up-i up-i nn ail voters in this city to attend the ward mass meetings to be hereafter called by the above named citizens committee, and see that capable and conservative men are nominated in accordance ac-cordance with the plan adopted atd re commended by the representatives of both parties, and that the agreement is carried out in good faith, to the end that Provo city may nave a board 01 education that will, during its term of office, faithfully and honestly conduct the educaticnal affairs ot this city -in a commendable and successful manner- A.
