Show Nineteenth Century Club. The ueual weekly meeting of the Nineteenth Century club was held in Mrs. E. A. Wedgwood's parlors. Owing to the sickness of the acticg president, Mrs. Wedgwood, Mrs. Bartow was elected to fill the cbair. Mrs. Re3d read the minutes of the last meeting. Some business was transacted. Mrs. Ross then gave the domestic new3. followed by Mrs. Veatch with the foreign news of the past week. Then came recess, after which all responded to roll call with quotations, "from crave to gay, from lively to severe." Work foi the next meeting of the club was then assigned. Mrs. Coray devoted ten minutes to explaining parliamentary rules. Miss Mary F. French for half an hour charmed her audience by a talk on "Rome From the Auguston Age to ;he Fall of the Empire." The club then adjourned. |
